the summer-to-fall skirt

In this transition of seasons, one of my favorite things to wear are skirts and dresses. I find that feminine-fitting, full  “swing skirts” can be one of the easiest summer-to-fall, day-to-night pieces in your wardrobe. And since skirts of all styles and shapes are trending this season, this is even more reason why such a skirt should be in every woman’s closet!
I love wearing these full-bodied skirts now with bare-legs and heels, and will wear them through fall and winter by adding tights and boots and/or heels.

This striped swing skirt from Anthropologie is the perfect example of such a transitional skirt…

Some tips on styling a full skirt ::

– Tuck your shirt into it. Most any kind of top will work from tees to tanks to blouses and button-downs.

– Layer with a fitted blazer or jacket in cooler weather.

– Change up the look by adding a belt {wide or skinny} around the small of your waist, covering the top of the skirt.

– Pair with any type of shoe from flats {if your legs are slender}, heels or boots.

– Add opaque tights in cooler weather for warmth.

Stylishly yours,
