Master Bathroom Reveal

I am so very excited to finally reveal my bathroom renovation with The Home Depot. If you follow me over on Instagram, you may have seen the demo and remodeling process happening back in November.

My husband, Mike, and I purchased our home shortly after we were married over ten years ago. The house was brand new, and while it felt nice at the time, I always hated our bathroom! The flooring was a drab brown tile and the countertops were also a taupe granite that never looked clean. The space was fairly spacious but always felt dark and dull.

For years, I dreamt of a bright space filled with lots of light, whites and neutrals, and that would allow for pops of color in decor. Raising twins, a two year move to Austin, Texas and the busyness of life derailed us from prioritizing this renovation for years. Thanks to an amazing partnership with The Home Depot, this dream recently became a reality!

Here’s a little insight into how I selected the materials for this space ::

First things first, I knew I wanted a white vanity and marble countertops. When I found this vanity on HomeDepot.com, I knew it was perfect. I love the vanity’s clean lines and ample storage space. It came with the marble countertop, and was surprisingly more efficient than repainting our old vanity and replacing its countertops! I’m so glad we demoed the previous vanity, since adding this free-standing version opened up a lot of space in the room.

The white and gray vanity set the tone for the rest of the bathroom’s neutral color scheme.

For the shower, I’ve always been drawn to a classic white subway tile, which made that decision easy. I selected this glossy version and paired with a light gray grout. The gray grout ties in the floors and is also easier to keep clean than white grout!

Since I love mixing patterns, I chose this hexagon tile for the shower floor and shower box. I love the final product and how these these two tiles compliment each other.

One of the most difficult decisions I faced was the bathroom floor tile. I had always thought I wanted something shiny and white. But when I started thinking through various options, I landed on this gray wood tile to bring warmth to the space, and also to better hide dirt! We laid the tile in a herringbone pattern and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the result. The floor turned out to be my favorite part of the new space!

I also thrilled with the way the lighting came together. I love gold fixtures, but also love the look of mixed metal. This handsome mixed-metal chandelier ties together the gold vanity sconces with the chrome/silver hardware throughout the bathroom. We also added multiple can lights in the ceiling around the bathroom so the lighting is phenomenal.

This affordable bathtub has been a fabulous addition to the space. It’s deep and comfortable, and I have been enjoying nightly baths since the remodel. This teak bath caddy is a new favorite bath accessory, and now I wonder how I ever lived without  one! I use it to sit my phone, a book and/or magazines, a candle and a drink. while I bathe.

I love our bathroom and am absolutely thrilled with the final result! It has been so fun to see all the different elements, materials and textures come together so beautifully! It’s pretty and practical, comfortable and classic, cozy and chic… and a space our entire family will enjoy for years to come.

Stylishly yours,

Lauren, this is absolutely gorgeous! Now, I want to redo my perfectly lovely master bathroom but I’m not sure I can convince my husband it makes sense. I really like the bright white and cheery brightness. You did a marvelous job of tying it all together!
