olive you

Last week, our Saturday blog post was a color crash course on fall’s favorite “it color”, burgundy.  This week we are going to look at olive as a color crush for your wardrobes.
Olive is considered a neutral and is a blank canvas to pair with the rest of the color wheel.  Think of it as khaki’s older and wiser sister.  You can pair it with other basics, or mix it with soft delicate tones like pink, coral, or baby blue.  Step it up a notch with bright hues such as orange, bright red, or hot pink.  Oh – and don’t forget those prints and stripes!

Here are a few of my favorite ways to wear olive this fall.

1. Layer over florals for a rough and tumble approach to a feminine print.

2. Take a basic tee and add a pop of color with jewelry or even a scarf.

3. Layer with stripes and a denim jacket (also wardrobe staples) or your favorite plaid.

4. Tone down your favorite brights with a military inspired jacket or vest.
