When we moved into our “new” older home back in March, one of the first projects I knew I needed to tackle was my closet. It’s no surprise that I own a lot of clothes, shoes and accessories, and the simple wire-racks in a closet built in this 25 year old were not going to cut it.
Here’s how my closet looked at move-in …
This closet is small and I honestly couldn’t comprehend a way to make it functional and feasible for housing my wardrobe.
This is where the “miracle” of Creative Closets came in…they literally transformed this small space into a dreamy closet with ample storage and tons of organization!
I spent a good amount of time researching closet companies, I loved that Creative Closets is locally owned and operated since 1992, and has tons of amazing reviews. When the owner and one of the designer showed up at my home for an initial meeting, walk-through and design appointment, I was incredibly impressed by how warm, friendly and creative the team is. They asked great questions and helped me think through my top needs and priorities for the functionality of the space.
When the designs showed up just a week later, I couldn’t believe how Creative Closets was able to create a vision to turn a little, lack-luster space into a dream closet.
Every detail of my closet was carefully thought-through based on my specific wardrobe, shoes and accessories. Creative Closets and More counted my shoes and was able to create space for 96 pairs of shoes, utilizing the walls next to the door that was previously “wasted space.” The shelves are adjustable, which is super helpful for storing shoes of all different heights.
One of my favorite aspects of my new closet are the drawers! Each one has a specific organizational design, tailored to my accessories. My close-friends and family can attest… for an accessory-lover who is often disorganized because of owning and regularly receiving so-many-things, these drawers are keeping me more organized than ever! I love that my jewelry, sunglasses, hats and headbands all have a designated home.
Creative Closets and More has endless drawer organization options, and many fun ways to store/organize/display jewelry. I like that both my jewelry drawers have a sliding “upper” tray that maximizes storage in each drawer.
Adjustable acrylic dividers were placed in a few of the drawers to keep sunglasses, hats and swimsuits in place. This is the first time I have stored swimsuits rolled and stacked, and I love how easy they are to see like this.
If you have followed me on Instagram or here on the blog for long, you have probably noticed that I LOVE headbands. Creative Closets and More surprised me by creating a custom headband drawer! I couldn’t love it more. This is a perfect solution girls/teen hair accessories, as well.
It’s amazing how just a few drawers, designed with purpose, can keep you organized and save significant time getting ready since everything is in place.
A valet hook/pull was added to each shoe shelf, providing a place to hang a bag or clothes, as well as belt hooks on one side. Did you notice all these details, including the wardrobe bars are all in my signature metallic gold?!
Creative Closets and More was able to increase my hanging storage space by over 9 feet! That has made a huge difference in clothes storage, and even gave me space to hang some of my favorite and most-used tote bags. We intentionally did not add molding to the top to allow for more storage at the very top of the shelving if I need it down the road.
Creative Closets and More can transform more than just closets, hence the name! They also created and installed custom built-ins for my office {stay tuned for that post coming soon!], and build out pantries, media rooms, laundry rooms, etc. My next plan is to bring them back to do our pantry and both my kids closets!
Creative Closets and More has a gorgeous showroom in Marietta, where I went to personally select my closet build-out accessories. I highly recommend making the trip to the showroom after one of the designers has created a plan for your space. I loved being able to see everything in person, as well as getting to walk through the attached warehouse where the custom spaces are built!
Creative Closets and More has truly “wowed” me! I wish you could each walk into my closet in person to really get a feel for how this space has been so drastically converted!
