spring 2013 trend report :: lace

Spring/Summer StyleLaurenComment

Lace is going to be a statement-maker this Spring season. You'll be seeing lots of lace in everything from tops to blazers to skirts to shorts to dresses...especially dresses! The trick to wearing this trend is to remember that you can wear lace casually by pairing with more laid-back garments such as denim, and that it creates a fun look when paired with patterns such as stripes, polka dots and florals. Last but not least, bright-colored lace looks less-formal and more playful than white, black or ivory lace typically does. {You also add a pop-color scarf, piece of jewelry or layering piece to a neutral lace top to freshen up the look.} Here's an easy-to-wear lace tee. This top would look great layered under a blazer, too!

Harlow Lace Tee, $58.

This is a perfect example of a lace top that can be dressed either up or down. I love it in both of these vibrant colors ::

Anthropologie Katrine Peplum Top in Red, $88.

Anthropologie Katrine Peplum Top in Chartreuse, $88.

If you are on the market for a pretty sundress for a special occasion this Spring, look for a bright-colored lace dress, such as this one {which happens to be in the color of the year, I might add!} ::

Lace dress by Aqua, $98.

How do you feel about the lace-trend? Do you see yourself wearing it this season?

Stylishly yours,
