The Best Fall Booties

Happy Monday!

I’m excited to kick off a week-long “Best Of Fall” series here on the blog, where I will be featuring Five Fall Must-haves, featuring one each day.

I touched on why ankle booties are so essential to a Fall Wardrobe + how to style them in my post FALL REBOOT WITH SHOE CARNIVAL, and wanted to share my three favorite types:

  1. the casual or low-heeled bootie
  2. the burgundy bootie and the
  3. dressy or heeled bootie

I’m also showing you the best options to shop and where to find the best booties for fall today.

CASUAL BOOTIES

First up, the casual or low-heeled bootie. Think of the casual bootie as a substitute for a ballet flat.

A comfy, low-heeled bootie that you can pair with jeans, cords and leggings, as well as casual dresses. I recommend a neutral taupe or cognac color so that it can pair with any color scheme.

This pair of casual booties by Sole Society is my current favorite for the fall, and they proved themselves in the comfort department during a trip to Chicago over this weekend. I wore them with both dresses and with jeans, and walked all around the city in them without discomfort!

BURGUNDY BOOTIES

Burgundy & wine tones are the “it” color this Fall, and a pair of burgundy booties may surprise you by their versatility.

I have worn this pair of Halogen booties from Nordstrom with so much more than I ever would have imagined, and, thus, think every gal should own a pair! You can pair burgundy with any neutrals, jewel tones, navy, black, gray, browns and even with burgundy! The possibilities are endless and a colored-bootie makes a fun statement anytime you wear them.

DRESSY BOOTIES

A dressy bootie is a shoe that can wear be worn into night, pair with dresses, leather pants/leggings or dressy jeans outfits. A dressy bootie can really be any style heel {stiletto, wedge, block or platform} and height, whatever is most comfortable to you.

I personally love the look of a heel with some fringe, like the Sam Edelman bootie I am wearing here.

If fringe isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other great options out this season. I recommend a dressy black heel as a priority, and then incorporating a taupe or colored heeled bootie if you find yourself dressing up often!
