#swfw + hilton sandestin recap

I had the privedge of traveling down to Florida’s gorgeous 30A with my family last weekend for the South Walton Fashion Week {SWFW}. The fabulous Hilton Sandestin Beach hosted me and my family and gave us the royal treatment during our three night visit. This is such a perfect time of year to visit this area…it was sunny and absolutely perfect weather for the beach and pool!

Speaking of the beach and pool, how gorgeous was the view out our room’s window at the Hilton Sandestin?

We have never stayed at a hotel/resort so accomadating to families! Our room was spacious and included built-in bunk beds and a seperate TV area for the kiddos, which made the sleeping arrangements SO easy! The entire resort was luxurious and catered to us as a family in every way, from the multiple pools, to the complimentary beach towels to fabulous dining within the resort, it was a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable vacation. {Be sure to check out exclusive Hilton San Destin specials offered to Edit by Lauren readers at the end of this post.}

Here’s a recap of the weekend and what I wore…

My travel essentials for the trip. My Barrington tote and overnighter set are my go-to travel pieces.

I wore this cobalt blue lace dress for the first night of SWFW runway shows. {Please forgive the blurry iPhone picture. I was late arriving due to hitting traffic driving in from Atlanta and missed the window to snap a pic outside in daylight!} This dress is so flattering and comes in six different colors. Perfect for any wedding or cocktail party.

Those of you who are regular readers KNOW how much I love jumpsuits! This one was perfect for the Friday night SWFW runway shows and a fabulous dinner at Seagar’s. It is truly my new favorite, and it is less than $50!! It fits like a dream and is perfect for Spring-Fall wear. {Just add a cropped leather jacket in cooler temps!}

I enjoyed a day in the sand and surf with my family on Saturday. The weather was perfect!! And how beautiful is this water? {The water was so still and clear, my kids kept calling the ocean the “pool!”}

I devoured this book with at the beach. It feels like Jen Hatmater wrote it just for me. And each friend of mine who has recommended this book to me says the same about themselves. If you are weary from attempting to “balance” it all and exhausted by all the “shoulds” society tells us to do and be, this book is for you. I’ve been tearing up in one chapter, laughing out loud in the next and tremendously refreshed by each page. {Sunglasses by Nectar.}

This outfit was perfect for exploring the adorable beach towns along 30A on Sunday. I’m loving the kimono trend this Fall and this one is ideal for Fall. I love that it is airy, has tassel details and can be layered over a tank or long sleeves!
