Hilton Head Island Vacation at Sonesta Resort & Travel Guide

Last month, my family and I enjoyed a Fall beach trip in Hilton Head Island at the gorgeous Sonesta Resort. Our trip got cut a bit short by Hurricane Michael, but the weather in the days leading up to the storm was perfection!

Fall is one of my favorite times to visit Hilton Head, and we found the Sonesta Hilton Head Island to be a wonderful, family-friendly resort, truly designed with both adults and kiddos in mind.

From the well-appointed rooms, friendly staff, gorgeous and spacious pool, convenient beach access, kids activities and fabulous on-side restaurants, the Sonesta Hilton Head island offered everything our family could have desired out of a vacation.

I even got to spend an afternoon at the wonderful Arum Spa at Sonesta Resort. I enjoyed one of the best massages of my life, followed by lavendar-infused champagne and a hot foot soak. It was glorious!

This romper is on sale for $18 and also comes in black!

The gorgeous grounds is one of my favorite things about Sonesta Hilton Head Island. There are hammocks and fire pits throughout the resort, and my kids loved watching the turtles in the ponds each day. The Sonesta Hilton Head truly has a spot for everyone to relax!

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast onsite at Heyward’s each morning and then also dined at Heyward’s for a fabulous family dinner one evening. It was so convenient to have great eating options just steps outside our room!

Our family road-tripped from Atlanta to Hilton Head Island in a brand new Chevy Equinox, thanks to a fabulous partnership with Chevrolet. This is our second family road-trip in a Chevy Equinox {read about our summer trip to Nashville with Chevy here} and our entire family is more than impressed with this vehicle, as well as the entire Chevrolet brand! {My kids are currently asking me to trade in my current SUV for a Chevy, no joke!}

Why do we love Chevy and this Equinox so much?! First of all, this vehicle is surprisingly roomy, spacious and luxe inside. My kids kept on commenting about how comfortable the back seats were for them!

As drivers, Mike and I are both so impressed with the technology {every Chevy is equipped with Apple Play}, ease of driving and safety of the Equinox. In fact, Chevrolet’s commitment to safety is bar-none. On top of that, our entire family loves that every Chevy vehicle is Wi-Fi enabled, making road trips SO much more enjoyable!!

Last but not least, MIke and I were both super impressed that we could fit ALL the loot for a week at the beach for a family of four in the trunk! I am not a light packer, so this was a very impressive feat!

If you haven’t yet visited HIlton Head, I highly encourage you to plan a trip soon! It’s one of our favorite places to visit as a family each year, and staying at Sonesta makes a vacation extra specia, easyl and enjoyable!

Some of our favorite places to visit and things to do each trip to Hilton Head ::

  • Rent bikes! Hilton Head is known for being super-bike friendly and this is one of my kid’s favorite traditions each year.

  • Visit Salty Dog cafe in the evening for ice cream and live music. We often eat a casual dinner on the patio there, too! My kids have a tradition of picking out a new tee shirt at the Salty Dog shop each year.

  • Hilton Head Ice Cream is conveniently located just outside the Sonesta Resort and the best ice cream on the island!

  • Signe’s Bakery is my personal favorite breakfast spot. I have to stop there at least once each trip for an Egg Fritata and some Key Lime Bread Pudding. YUM! Rachel Ray shares my love for this Hilton Head bakery, that has been in business for over 36 years!

  • Lawton Stables is an must-go place for the kids. Pony rides for kids 7 and under are just $10! There is a cute petting farm here, too.

  • Harbor Town is another must-visit. It’s a gorgeous place to stroll, shop, dine and take pics. My kids love the huge playground here. We typically always eat a sea-food dinner here at Crazy Crab, where you have to get the Hushpuppies!

Stylishly yours,
