the {faux} leather skirt

Leather {and faux-leather} is a trending material for Fall/Winter, and it is easier to wear than ever. We’ll cover a variety of leather pieces in upcoming posts, but today I want to focus on the more-practical-than-you-might-think leather skirt. Leather skirts have evolved from from primarily short mini-skirts to a great variety of shapes, lengths, colors and textures.
I love the versatility of a leather skirts. They can be worn both day and night, dressed up or casually, with virtually any color, texture and style of top. They look fab with boots, booties, heels or flats, and can be worn with or without tights, depending on the weather.

I found my faux-leather skirt at Fabrik Boutique for a steal last month, and have been loving it! Here are two different ways I have styled it so far…

Here with an animal-print blouse {J.Crew Factory} and wedge {Tory Burch}.

And here with a buffalo plaid flannel shirt {J.Crew factory},  booties {Target} and a bold statement necklace {Stella & Dot}.

{It was incredibly humid out the day I took this picture, so please excuse my bad hair day. Believe it or not, I started out this day with curls!!}
