As we approach the summer heat, it always becomes a little tricky finding clothing that is flexible. We freeze our tails off inside with frigid air conditioning temperatures and then burst into flames the moment we step outside.  What is the solution to being appropriate yet comfortable during these next few months?   The solution is to go sleeveless in a fun print or color and add a little punch to your outfit.

Just as we layer for winter with sweaters over blouses, the same goes for the summer season.  I love to stock up on camis and tanks that can be worn to work under a cardigan or jacket during the week.  Loosen up the work attire by shedding the layers and throwing on some boyfriend jeans or shorts for a weekend casual look.  This Loft Floral Vine tank is such a perfect summer print that can be worn so many different ways.  The peplum style is airy and breezy for those scorching days in the sun, but provides a professional look when paired with a blazer.

As a mom of two elementary school girls trying to balance a styling/blogging business while keeping my family together and organized can be a challenge some days.  I know I'm not alone so finding pieces that are versatile is a huge time and money saver for those days when you just can't make one more decision.

Dresses are a perfect "one stop shop" and more versatile than one might think.  This knit dress from Anthropologie comes in 2 other colors and is the perfect choice for your spring and summer wardrobe.  It's appropriate for the work week with a heel or wedge, but can easily be worn casually with a flat sandal for the weekend.  Throw on a denim jacket or cardigan for those chilly evenings and you are ready to hit the town for a date night.

If you are not convinced that my dress is your style, I've included some other knit dress that are in stores and online.

We all know this time of year is really tricky when it comes to finding the perfect balance between looking spring forward, but embracing the "not so spring" temperatures.  Finding versatility in your wardrobes with layering pieces is always an easy solution.  Simple pieces like this Loft strappy camisole are great for wearing now under your favorite cardigans or jackets, but then can stand alone during those hot summer months.

If you follow my posts on a regular basis, you know I'm a huge print lover.  There are endless ways to remix your favorite print with a switch of a pant or by adding a bold accessory.  It is one of the quickest ways to breathe life into an existing piece.

There are plenty of great wear now prints out in stores and online.  Shop some of my favorite layering pieces below.
