I get a lot of questions about whether maxi skirts and dresses can be worn into Fall, and, if so, how to wear them in cooler weather. This season, I am loving the look of pairing ankle booties with long skirts and dresses, for a casual and comfortable look. {If you aren't a bootie fan, cowboy boots and riding boots also look cute under long skirts.}

Rule of thumb for transitioning the skirts and dresses that you wore during the summer months...make sure the pattern, colors and fabrik isn't too light, bright or "summer-y." Go for thicker cottens and darker shades. Throw a denim jacket or chambray shirt over a sleeveless dress to make it fall-appropriate.
