Summer Fun with Banana Boat

LaurenComment

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Banana Boat®. The opinions and text are all mine.

The season of warmer weather, longer days and lots of sunshine is fast approaching! Can I get a hurray?!! My kids and I could not be more excited to welcome summer and all the fun outdoor activities this glorious season entails!

My twins, Jack and Lily, love playing outdoors, and as a mama, there is nothing I prefer for them to do more than to adventure, explore, create and run free outside!

In addition to our family’s annual summer beach trip, some of our favorite warm-weather pastimes are long pool days, boating on our local lake, hiking in the nearby North Georgia Mountains and taking family bike rides on the nearby greenway. Of course all of these activities typically involve ice cream or another cold, refreshing treat!

A well-known “rule” in our house is that we religiously apply sunscreen before we head out to have fun in the sun.

Since few kids “enjoy” the process of applying sunscreen, I am always on the hunt for an effective sunscreen that is kid-friendly and keeps the application quick and simple!

I was recently introduced to Banana Boat® Kids Sport Sunscreen, which I purchased at Walmart.

This sunscreen gives both a mama and her kiddos everything they could hope for in a sunscreen:

·       Provides safe and effective broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection

·       Tear-free and sting-free formula that’s mild and gentle enough for kids’ sensitive skin

·       Light-weight, quick absorbing formula that won’t run into eyes

·       Water-resistant formula (up to 80 minutes)

·       Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation to protect against the sun’s harmful rays

·       Stays on in seven conditions – sun, pool water, ocean water, wind, sweat, sand and even 100 degree heat**

**7 conditions does not apply to tanning or oil products, SPF 100 lotions, lip balms, Kids FREE and Zinc Faces.

We have been using the Banana Boat® Kids Sport Sunscreen Lotion with PowerStay™ Technology SPF 50+ on faces, necks and ears, and the Banana Boat® Kids Sport Sunscreen Lotion Spray with PowerStay™ Technology on the rest of the body.

Jack and Lily love that the application process is easy and that there are no tears or stinging involved. They also appreciate that we don’t have to reapply too often due to the water-resistant formula and PowerStay™ Technology. As their mama, I appreciate knowing my kids’ skin is being well protected while they swim, bike and play!

Here are a few helpful sunscreen application tips :: Apply a golf-ball sized portion (about an ounce or 2 tablespoons) of Banana Boat® sunscreen lotion to your entire body and your child’s at least 15 minutes before going out in the sun. Reapply the sunscreen every two hours or immediately after swimming, sweating or towel drying. For sunscreen sprays, spray liberally and spread evenly on the body by hand at least 15 minutes before engaging in outdoor activities. For your face, spray the sunscreen in your hand and then apply to the face.

Last but not least, be sure to head over to the Banana Boat® Summer Fun Pinterest board for lots of fun in the sun inspiration, and to take advantage of the $1 off Ibotta rebate offer for $1 off any Banana Boat product (some exclusions apply) from 4/4/18 – 5/30/18. You can find these sunscreens conveniently at your local Walmart.

Here’s to lots of fun in the sun this summer, and to protecting skin while doing it!

Hello from beautiful 30A/Grayton Beach, Florida! We are here for the week in a gorgeous house on the beach {if you saw my tour on Instastories, here is the VRBO rental link} with three families.

Here are some "mommy and me" Spring Break beach essentials that I packed for me and Lily.

1. Jelly flip flops. I particularly am loving our coordinating Jack Rogers jelly flipflops, which are each under-$50 and perfect for the beach, yet also look cute paired with a casual shorts or sundress outfit!

2. A nautical beach tote. I carry my personalized Barrington Savannah Tote with me on every beach trip. I love that this one has a zipper! I also usually pack my Barrington Yacht Tote for long days on the beach since it's absolutely huge and carries everything!

3. Neutral flat sandals. Lily and I also love these neutral sandals. They are both comfortable and go with everything! Besides a pair of flipflops, it's pretty much the only shoe you need for the beach!

4. Denim shorts in both blue denim and white. These are the only shorts that I pack for me and Lily, since they go with everything! I am loving this cute embroidered pair for Lily and this new white pair for me! {Be sure to size up in the white Free People pair!}

Here are some of my favorite denim shorts. {The white pair is linked above.}

5. Turquoise earrings. It may sound silly, but the only jewelry a gal really needs at the beach is something turquoise! Turquoise goes with everything and a pair of statement earrings adds a fun beachy pop to any outfit!

Last but not least, don't forget the sunscreen! My favorite SAFE sunscreen is Beautycounter. The Body and Face Sticks are our family favorite since they go on easily without white residue! My 7-year-old twins can even apply themselves!

I even use the Face Stick to touchup my face, even over makeup. I also love to wear Dew Skin as my beach/pool/lake foundation since it gives dewy coverage while blocking out harmful sun rays.

Hope you are having a great start to your week1 Feel free to pop over to Instagram @laurenlefevre to follow along on my Spring Break adventures and outfits!

Essential Oils :: My Favorite Diffuser Blends

LaurenComment
069.jpg

If you follow me on Instastories, you know I LOVE to diffuse essential oils around my home each and every day.

I have been getting a ton of questions about my favorite oils to diffuse, and I am excited to share them with you today!

Did you know that there are aromatic and therapeutic benefits to each Essential Oil?

I love to diffuse different doTERRA oils and blends to help purify the air, rest and relax, energize and motivate and/or just as a way to make a room smell amazing!

If you don’t yet own a diffuser, I have two favorites by doTERRA, the Petal and the Lumo.

The Petal Diffuser is a small, convenient, and night-friendly diffuser, that diffuses for up to four hours. It includes soft white ambient light that my kids love to use as a night-light while they sleep. The Petal is affordable, and comes as a part of the Home Essentials Kit, which is a great place to start with essential oils.

The Lumo Diffuser {pictured above} is pretty and sleek with a wood base. It has seven light color options, and diffuses for up to 10 hours, which is nice since it  can diffuse all night long.

Here are my favorite oil blends to diffuse ::

AnthropologieDiffuser.jpg

Siberian Fir | Citrus Bliss | Grapefruit

It's called the Anthropologie blend, which, of course, means it smells amazing...just like stepping into an Anthro store! Need I say more?!

Citrus Bliss is one of my favorite oils to diffuse on its own, too.

BalanceBlissDiffuser.jpg

Citrus Bliss | Balance

Both of these oils smell amazing alone, but I especially love the scent of the two of them together. This is the blend I use while working from home almost everyday.

I also love dapping Balance on my neck and wrists whenever I need to feel a sense of calm.

WinterWellnessDiffuser.jpg

On Guard | Wild Orange

On Guard is one of the most "essential" essential oils you can own since it's for immune support. You can read more about it here. It smells great on its own but even more amazing paired with WIld Orange.

I love drinking Wild Orange in my water each day, as well!

CitrusJoyDiffuser.jpg

Elevation | Grapefruit

Combine Grapefruit and Elevation for a tangy combination uplifts your mood and provides an energizing aroma. It’s a great motivation boost to help set your mindset and accomplish your spring-cleaning this season!

Grapefruit is a natural detoxifier and another oil I love to add to my water bottle.

BreatheEasyDiffuser.jpg

Breathe | Frankincense | Lime

This Breathe Easy Blend is my "go to" whenever respiratory issues or seasonal threats hit our household! I will often diffuse this one through the night to ensure better sleep through coughs and congestion.

Another fun way to use lime is to add a few drops to fresh-made guacamole! YUM!

In case you haven’t yet read it, be sure to check out my post on Essential Oils 101, to learn more about doTERRA oils and how to purchase them at wholesale {25% off}. You can also join my brand new groups on Facebook @editessentials and Instagram @editbylaurenessentials, dedicated to essential oils and healthy living.

Last but not least, while I love most things about Amazon, be sure not to purchase any doTERRA products via Amazon, as they are not certified, guaranteed and could potentially not be safe to use!

As always, feel free to email me at info@editbylauren.com with any questions about Essential Oils.

Let's get oily!
