Friday Five :: Monday Edition

Casual Outfit Inspiration, Travel, Swimwear, Beauty & HairLaurenComment

Hello from Hilton Head Island! I decided to join my mom on a spontaneous trip to the beach at the end of last week, so my normal "Friday Five" post didn't get written and posted as usual! Since the Friday posts have been such a hit and because I had some super cute pieces to include, I thought I would just share today, even though it's Monday.

Here are five of my current favorite things ::

1. This peplum. I love a good peplum top because they are usually ultra flattering and feminine on every body type. This one is both, and the slightly longer length is perfect, too! And did I mention it's just $38? Note that in the online picture, it looks black. It's actually more of a dark blue in person! Here is another very similar peplum option and here is the fun $32 pom-pom necklace I am wearing.

2. These slides. Y'all have to snag a pair of these slide sandals! They are $35 and come in multiple colors and are oh-so-comfy! {Just be sure to size up!} I am loving this bright pink, and also love them in leopard print!

3. This one-piece. This bright-colored suit is so fun and super flattering. The front straps can also be worn criss-crossed in the front for a completely different look!

top | sunglasses | earrings | bag | shorts | shoes

4. This top. This is the perfect little vacation top. It's $44, comfy and stays well put over the shoulders {except for when you are trying to take a downward selfie!}. It would also be cute for a backyard cookout or themed summer party! I absolutely love it with paired these fun yellow earrings!

5. This skincare. I'll be posting a full blog post all about Beauty Counter and my decision to #switchtosafer soon, but wanted to go ahead and share three products that are keeping my skin clear and radiant this summer! I have been consciously switching my family's skincare products over to safer products over the past year, and have become absolutely passionate about Beauty Counter's mission to get safe skincare and beauty products in the hands of everyone! I joined the Beauty Counter movement this week and couldn't be more excited.

All that said, I have been using the Beauty Counter Balancing Collection for a while now, and these three products have totally cleared up my skin! My oily/acne-prone skin is looking smooth and radiant, without having to treat it with harsh chemicals! The Balancing Charcoal Mask is the BEST mask I have ever used {which says a lot because I have tried A LOT of masks!}. It literally can clear up skin in one use, and can be used a blemish spot treatment, too. I LOVE it! {This collection can be purchased as a bundle or each product individually.} For cleansing, I use the Charcoal Cleansing Bar in the morning and the Cleansing Balm at night to remove all my makeup.

To celebrate my launch with Beauty Counter, I am giving away a Lip Conditioner in your choice of either Peppermint or Calendula  {$20 value} with every purchase of $50 or more that is under my social called "Lauren's Summer Skin Social." To place an order, simply click here and then click "view details" in the upper right hand screen to select my social. Feel free to email me at lauren@editbylauren.com with any questions about the products, joining Beauty Counter or how to place an order!

Happy Friday! It's the first Friday of "Summer vacation" for me, and I'm happy to report our first week out of school has been so fun! I am loving the lazy mornings and slower pace...and hope all you mamas are off to a great start to Summer, too!

Here are five pieces I am loving this week ::

1. This necklace. My friend and Orlando-based jewelry designer, Dora Mae Jewelry, sent me this gorgeous rainbow necklace this week and I am obsessed! It's just so happy! Enjoy 15% off any jewelry purchase with code EDITBYLAUREN. Dora Mae pieces are all one-of-a-kind and so unique...they make amazing gifts, too. I get compliments everywhere I go whenever I wear my Dora Mae!

2. This gingham top. This smocked gingham top is $35 and such a fun little summer blouse. I love the pom-pom detailing on the sleeves, and how it plays well with any pop-color accessory!

3. This one-shoulder top. This gorgeous top comes in three colors and is SO soft! It feels like a "dressed up" tee shirt, and is perfect with jeans or shorts.

4. This kimono. This kimono has become my favorite swim cover-up this season. The colors are so vibrant and gorgeous, and I love that it can double as a layering peice to a shorts/jeans outfit! Simply throw it over a tank or a tee and you have a statement-maker for any summer look! Shop my swimsuit here

5. This off-the-shoulder top. I own this shirt in two colors and it's become a go-to when I need to get ready in a pinch! I love that it is breezy and comfy in warm temps, super flattering and that it looks effortlessly stylish for both day and night. It's just $42, comes in four coors and I cannot recommend it more.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Stylishly yours,

Spring Break Beach Trip Recap

Travel, Swimwear, Mom StyleLaurenComment

As many of you know, my family and I traveled to Florida's 30A beaches for Spring Break the week before last. We rented a fun little house called the "Pink Flamingo" with some of our best family friends and enjoyed a relaxing week in the surf, sand and sun.

Here's a little recap of a few things we did and what I wore ::

My Spring/Summer road-trip outfits always consist of cutoff and slide-on sandals.  This $29 cold-shoulder pre-knotted top is my current favorite tee, and comes in several colors.

I wore this Trina Turk off-the-shoulder suit the first day at the beach and it was an immediate new favorite. The print is so stunning that I got tons compliments from strangers walking around on the beach in it! This suit also runs true to size, and I am wearing a 4.

I wore this vibrant floral tunic to a casual dinner on night. It just went on sale for 40% off and can also be worn as mini-dress and/or a coverup! It's available in more colors and sizes here. {Shop my shorts and shoes.}

My other favorite bathing suit of the trip is this high-neck Trina turk suit. It's as flattering as it is gorgeous. The back detailing is pretty, too! This suit also comes in a black and white color scheme. I cannot say enough good things about this suit... it is worth every penny! For size reference, I am wearing a size 4. I find Trina Turk suits run true to size.

I must also make mention of this Free People straw hat. It's designed to be packable, so it keeps its shape as you travel! Genus! {Shop my towel and flip-flops.}

This dreamy kimono coverup is the perfect compliment to this suit, and can also be worn as a layering piece to any outfit!

How cute is this bunch?! All nine of us tried out a new dinner spot in Grayton Beach called Chiringo. To say we are new fans is an understatement. This open-air Spanish-inspired eatery has great views, a small greenspace for the kiddos to run free {hence the adorable picture above} and some of the best food and drinks we have eaten along 30A! Be sure try a super fresh Chiringo Margarita, the Abondigas appetizer and the Grouper Sandwich when you stop in.

I wore this outfit to Chiringo for dinner and shot this pic on the beautiful Grayton Beach right before we ate. I have been on the lookout for some lavender pieces to add to my Spring wardrobe and this $55 off-the-shouder top is just perfect! {Shop my shorts and shoes.}

I traditionally get a new white suit each Summer, simply because I love how classy and timeless they are! White suits also make a good tan "pop" which is an added bonus. This lace beauty is this season's pic. It's surprisingly flattering and supportive of a full chest, too.

This tie-die coverup and these gold sandals are also two of my beach-trip must-haves of the year!

Last but not least, our trip was made SO much easier thanks to Live Well 30A, who delivered bikes and chairs to our doorstep, so that we didn't have to pack a thing. Live Well 30A is a full-service beach concierge company that provides everything from bike and chair rental to beach bonfires to paddle boards to grocery delivery...and so much more! I highly recommend this amazing company for all your beach-related needs on your next trip to 30A.

Happy Friday!
