Joss & Main Boy's Bedroom Reveal

Kid Style, Home DecorLauren2 Comments

I'm excited to team up with Joss & Main again today to reveal my son, Jack's bedroom, that I created with the help of design-blogger, Joni of Lay Baby Lay. If you missed Jack's twin sister, Lily's, bedroom reveal on the blog yesterday, be sure to check it out here.

When designing a room for six-year-old Jack, there was only thing that really mattered to him :: that it incorporated Star Wars!

{sources for the above :: twin beds; mattresses; sheets; coverlets; embroidered pillows; dotted pillows; bed skirts; similar throw blanketsBoba Fett poster; Han Solo poster; rug; Starwars figurines; X-Wing Patent print; Atlanta banner}

Joni and I loved creating a Star Wars-inspired space that doesn't feel juvenile and that can grow up with Jack. In fact, we're convinced Star Wars fans of any age will love this room!

We selected these dark bronze twin beds that help ground the room and will be beds to last him for years. I wanted twin beds in Jack's room for future sleepovers and to give houseguests an extra place to sleep if need be, and love the classic and masculine look of this setA light blue nightstand to adds a playful punch of color to the room.

I have to mention that Jack's new twin mattresses are from Joss & Main and they are SO comfortable. I am shocked by how quality these mattresses are for the affordable price. My husband and I have both chosen to take naps on these beds because they are just so comfy!

Wall art played a big part in creating the room's Star Wars theme. These vintage posters of Boba Fett and Han Solo by Concepcion Studios could not be cooler! Framebridge framed these two posters in their sleek Irvine Slim frame so that they will last the test of time. I have a strong feeling that Jack will be asking to take these to college with him!

The giant moon canvas makes such a fun "space" statement and this X-Wing Fighter Patent Print above Jack's nightstand gives another nod to Star Wars.

This handsome dresser is one of my favorite pieces in Jack's room, and another piece that I know will grow with Jack. It's such a well-made piece and I love its unique legs.

We created a reading nook in the corner of Jack's room. He loves that this end table provides storage for his Pokeman cards, legos and other treasures. This chair will be a versatile piece as Jack grows up since it can double as a desk chair.

We added shelves between the windows to add space to store and showcase books and nicnacks. These were affordable and super easy to install!

We painted the walls a soft gray called "Rock Candy" by Sherwin Williams, using their new super-durable Emerald Paint. Edge2Edge Painting did a fantastic job painting the room.

This statement light fixture, which Jack claims looks like just a spaceship, is another favorite in his room. It totally completes the room's space-theme, and helps the room appear larger since we hung it lower on the room's tall ceiling. We put this light on a dimmer and it doubles as the perfect nightlight!

Jack could not be more proud of his new "big boy" room and his mama loves it, too! If you are looking for a cute gift idea for a little Star Wars fan, Jack's PJ's are super cute and cozy!

All of these Joss & Main pieces are on a limited-time sale. You can shop all the furniture and accessories featured in one place here.

Joni and I are excited to be taking over the Joss & Main Instagram account today! Head over for lots of design tips throughout the day! Also, read an interview with us about the creation of both Jack and Lily's room on the Joss & Main site here.

Joss & Main Girl's Bedroom Reveal

Home Decor, Kid StyleLauren5 Comments

I couldn't be more excited to share with you my daughter, Lily's, new bedroom reveal with Joss & Main!

When my boy/girl twins were babies, I decided I would love for them to share a room until they were five or six, and then create unique spaces for each of them. Jack and Lily turned six last month, and the time had come to separate their bedrooms.

I was thrilled to partner with Joss & Main and my talented design-blogger friend, Joni of Lay Baby Lay, to create boy/girl rooms that are age appropriate now but will also grow up with them.

This white velvet bed is super luxe and is a piece I envision taking Lily through high school! Her room doubles as a guest space, so this bed helps create an inviting and comforting spot for friends and family to land when they visit.

The gorgeous gold flush mount light fixture makes such a fun statement and casts the prettiest, magical-looking light across the room.

One of the elements Lily cared about most when we started the design process was mint walls, so we started there and pulled in lots of white and pops of fun, unexpected color! I love how the room looks so girly without the walls being pink! We custom mixed the perfect minty-blue hue with Sherwin Williams using their new Emerald Paint, which is super-durable for kid/family spaces. Edge2Edge Painting, who I highly recommend, did a fantastic job painting the room to perfection! {The color formula is 2041-70, which is a custom manual match for Irish Mint. Feel free to email me at for a picture of the paint can label.}

This glam dresser is one of my favorite parts of the room. {If I am honest, I wish it was in my room!} It's another piece that will stand the test of time as Lily grows up. In addition to being so gorgeous, it's super sturdy and well built with felt-lined drawers. I love how the fun, colorful accessories on top makes the piece extra playful and girly.

This blue rug pulls the room together and is simply beautiful! It's a versatile rug that can be used in any space of a house, and I love how it pulls so many colors together. It's super soft and luxe feeling under foot, and is another element that will help special guests feel extra cozy.

The leather poufs provide a fun place to sit while reading and playing; and double as the spot where we lay Lily's school clothes out each night.

The pop yellow lamps make such a whimsical, eye-catching statement. I love that the nightstands give plenty of storage space for books and treasures.

This desk has already endured countless hours of playtime, as it's one of Lily's favorite parts of her room. It's just her size, has lots of spaces to organize her desk accessories and is complete with a working roll-top. It's just the cutest!

Lily loves bunnies and we have been calling her "the bunny" since she has been a baby, so this bunny print was a perfect personal touch to her room.

This is such a happy space and I could not be more thrilled with how it turned out! For Lily, it's a little girl's dream come true. It's obvious she's so excited about her new bedroom and I cannot wait for all the fond memories that will made here!

Stripes & Sneaks

Casual Outfit Inspiration, Mom Style, Kid StyleLauren2 Comments

Do any of you remember KangaROOS sneakers from childhood? I have the clearest memories of my friends and I wearing our bright-colored Kangaroos together and hiding quarters in the side pockets!

Since I have such fond memories of wearing KangaROOS, I was excited to hear that Payless was bringing them back this Fall so that I could introduce the classic sneaks to my own kids. My twins love their KangaROOS! These are the perfect, comfy play shoes for kids and mommies alike!

Speaking of play clothes, these striped pieces from Gap are all perfect weekend and days outside at the park. Each of our pieces are super soft and are currently on sale. {Lily's sweatshirt dress is so cute layered with leggings and a denim jacket for cooler weather, and my striped tee is the perfect mix-and-match top for Fall.}

If you are looking for ideas for family/kid pics for Fall photos, mixing up stripes is a great way to style the family!

What are you all up to this weekend? I'm headed to an apple orchard to pick apples with Jack and Lily's class tomorrow and then to the mountains for the weekend. I'm so excited that some cooler temps have finally hit Atlanta and ready to enjoy some outdoor Fall festivities with the family. {Follow along our adventures over on Snapchat at LaurenLefevre.}

Stylishly yours,

Thank you to Payless for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
