If you follow me on Instastories, you may have seen my Flawless in Five/Five Minute Face Tutorial. I have received so much traction and feedback from it, and I've been working on turning my tutorial into a Youtube video to share here on the blog! {If you are a Youtuber and wouldn't mind following my new Youtube channel, I would so appreciate it!}

I'm honestly a product-junkie and have historically always taken more than five minutes to apply my makeup. So I was skeptical that someone like me, that loves using lots of products, would like the results of a "simple" set.

That said, after using these products over the past two months, I am full-on believer in the effectiveness of this six-step, Five Minute Face set. It's perfect for a busy mornings and I even apply it in my car at stoplights while driving carpool and/or heading to the gym most days!

Without further a do, here is my Beautycounter Flawless in Five tutorial ::

Here's a breakdown of the products I used :: These products can be purchased individually as well as part of a discounted set.

1. Tint Skin in Sand. Here is a link to the Beautyblender I use to apply the Tint Skin.

2. Concealer Pen in Light.

3. Mattifying Powder. {not included in the Flawless in Five set}

4. Matte Bronzer No 2. {not included in the Flawless Five set, but one of the best bronzer's I've ever used. I just switched to shade No. 1 for Fall/Winter use.}

5. Powder Blush Duo in Flamingo/Apricot. Hands-down the prettiest blush color I have ever used.

6. Brow Pencil in Medium.

7. Eyeshadow Duo in Pearl/Champagne. {not included in Flawless in Five set, also doubles as a gorgeous face highlighter!}

8. Volumizing Mascara.

9. Lipgloss in Dahlia.

I used the amazing Riki Skinny Mirror to self-film this video. It has a magnetic phone clip to hold your phone while you film! I also use it to apply my makeup each day. One of my favorite purchases of the year!

 Stylishly yours,

P.S. I am planning to start doing more style/beauty tutorials and would love to hear from you about what you would like to see! Please leave a comment or email me anytime at with suggestions and ideas!

Beautycounter Holiday Collection + Gift Ideas

Beauty & Hair, Holiday Style, GiftsLaurenComment

You all know I am a loyal fan and user of Beautycounter products. {Head over to this post to find out what brought me to making the switch to safer.}

Honestly I have been SO impressed by both Beautycounter's mission for safer skincare and the performance of the beauty and makeup products, that I joined the movement myself as a consultant.

That said, the brand new Holiday Collection just launched and I am so giddy to share it with you! There are 47 new makeup shades and 9 sets under $50 in this collection! It's a perfect time to try new products for yourself and also to stock up on unique gifts that women on your list are sure to LOVE.

Every item in the Holiday Collection comes packaged in a gorgeous red box, perfect for gifting. Honestly, the box is so pretty, just add a gold bow and it's good to go, without even being wrapped!

In terms of makeup, these two pallets are simply gorgeous. I am OBSESSED with both. Even the packaging is beautiful! I snagged both for myself {stay tuned for some tutorials coming soon!} and plan on gifting them to ladies on my list who love new makeup. The highlighters in the WInter Jewels Pallete are insanely good!!

Beautycounter Lip Sheers and Lip Glosses are crowd-pleasers and all of these shades are BRAND NEW!

My personal lip favs are the Texas Poppy lipsheer/lipgloss and the Raspberry lipgloss since I love a brighter pink! I plan on breaking these sets apart for gifts, because who doesn't love a new lip product?!

The thicker tubes pictured above are the Illuminating Trio which are truly the BEST highlighters I've ever tried. They are so easy to apply! I use on my cheeks, cheekbones and even on my brow bone to create a dewy, glowy look.

Beautycounter face oils and masks are best sellers and truly AMAZING! I swear by the Charcoal Mask and Brightening Mask {use them each once a week} and by the #3 Balancing Oil that has cleared up my skin like no other product. This is a perfect time to try all of our masks and oils in affordable smaller sizes, and also to gift them!

This Clean Slate Charcoal Duo makes a perfect gift/stocking stuffer for a teenager.

I purchased several of the hand-cream trios and the soap trios and plan on breaking them up and creating gifts for teachers and hostess gifts.

My Makeup Overhaul

Beauty & HairLauren2 Comments

If you have been following me for the past few months, you know I've been on a new journey towards using safer skincare products for myself and my family. You can read all about it on this post.

One of the things I am working on progressively changing is my cosmetics. Now, you all know I love makeup and I am obsessed with lipstick and lipgloss!

While changing out my body lotion, face and body wash, and shampoo to Beautycounter's safer products has been quick and easy, the process of switching my makeup has and will be slower as I try new products and new safer cosmetics are released.

The way I see it is that every small change I make with safer product I substitute for a toxic one in my daily routine, lowers the chemical load on my skin and body each day. I like to think that any change we can make is a positive one. Over time, these small changes can make a BIG difference for ourselves and our families.

I find it worth noting that Christy Coleman, a well-known celebrity makeup artist, joined Beautycounter as the Creative Director after her own dad's passing from Lou Gehrig’s disease, which has been linked to ingredients like formaldehyde which was in products she was using on her makeup clients everyday. Her passion and vision and overall expertise is amazing and I cannot wait to see the new products she develops in the coming months/years!

With all that said, I have been VERY impressed with most of the Beautycounter cosmetics I have tried so far, and want to share with you the ones I am starting to incorporate into my daily regime.

1. Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20. This three-in-one moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation has been a life saver this summer. I wear it on the daily to the gym, the pool, running errands, etc. {I like to apply it with my BeautyBlender, but you can also apply with this brush.} It gives light coverage and great sun-protection. It's no surprise it's an Allure Magazine "Best of Beauty" Award Winner!

{Note :: I prefer a heavier foundation for evening, events and photo-shoots...but this one is great for my everyday running around town, and saves time since it is three-in-one!} I wear shade No.3 as do most people I know with medium toned skin.

2. Matte Bronzer. I am a self-proclaimed bronzer junkie and this one is as good as any of my more toxic-favorites. There are two shades {I wear the darker of the two} and I love how the color is perfectly bronze, not orangey. A few sweeps and your face looks alive and sun-kissed!

3. Color Sweep Blush Duo. I am absolutely obsessed with this blush in the Flamingo/Apricot duo. The color is just soooo pretty! I have tried it on multiple skin tones and it looks fabulous on everyone. If you are in need a new blush, look know further. {An added bonus is that the packaging is beautiful!}

4. Lipgloss. I'm a gal who likes to keep a gloss on her lips 24/7. I've been convicted about how many chemicals I am absorbing and even ingesting through my lip products. {YUK!}

While I still continue to use my favorite drug store and department store brands of lipsticks and lip glosses for when I need more color, I love the Beautycounter Lipglosses as my go-to everyday gloss. These are shiny and moisturizing, yet not sticky. They go on sheer, and are also perfect for layering over a lipstick. {Shop Beautycounter's Lipstick options here.}

5. Touchup Concealer Pen. I love this product! It hides dark circles, redness, and other imperfections and actually stays put for long-lasting, flawless wear!

Last but not least, if you are on the hunt for luxe, yet affordable makeup brushes, Beautycounter's brushes are fabulous. They can be purchased individually or as a set.

I hope you will join me on my journey to safer skincare and cosmetics! Please feel free to email me anytime with questions about any products. Also, I am excitedly and actively growing a fun team of women from around the country to share the Beautycounter mission. If you are interested in possibly joining my team as a Beautycounter consultant, I would love to chat and answer your questions!

Stylishly yours,
