2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale FAVORITES

Lauren1 Comment

Christmas in July, AKA the Nordstrom Anniversary SALE, is HERE!

Today, Thursday, July 11th, the sale opens online to the top two tiers of card holders, Ambassadors and Icons. Then, tomorrow, Friday, July 12th, at 12:30pm EST, the sale opens to all Nordstrom card holders.

I’ll be honest that this sale was the most “under-whelming” of all the Nordstrom Sales I have shopped over the past 10+ years. The inventory in the Atlanta store was very slim, even though I shopped the first pre-sale day on Tuesday. Lots of sizes were already gone in store on the very first day of the in-store early access sale. I say this to encourage you all to shop ONLINE to save yourself the time and hassle of going in store only to find nothing in your size! The inventory online will be tremendously more diverse in terms of selection and robust in terms of quantity.

I left the store with only a few bags, and a few staples that I know I will wear over and over throughout the Fall. I say this to encourage y’all to not feel like you need to go overboard and break the bank with this sale. Buy a few staples you love and can wear lots of ways. My recommendation is to concentrate on denim, workout wear, Fall shoes, athletic shoes, a versatile cardigan or layering piece and a fun top or two.

Also, a few things in keep in mind as you shop ::

  • Anniversary Sale items will not restock.

  • If you think you “might” want something, grab it now! If unsure of sizing, I recommend ordering two sizes and returning whatever doesn’t fit.

  • This is a great time to buy gifts! Think through upcoming birthdays and Christmas lists.

Here are a few of my favorites from my Atlanta store try on. A round-up of more favorites from different categories coming tomorrow!

FAVORITE JEANS :: These under-$100 Madewell Highrise jeans are hands-down favorite denim from the sale. I have never owned Madewell jeans and honestly never really liked any I have tried on…until now! The personal styling store manager recommended them to me so I tried them on…and I am so glad she did! These are SUPER stretchy, crazy comfy and almost feel like you are wearing leggings. {I traveled to D.C. in them yesterday, see pic below, and they were amazing!}

I love that these are ultra-high waisted and hold their shape. These run true to size, if not on the larger side. If in between sizes, I recommend sizing down. I also love that these jeans are perfect to wear now, during Summer, and that they will be adorable with flats and booties in the Fall.

RUNNER UP FAV JEANS :: These Frame skinny jeans with a scalloped raw hem were my second favorite pair. I love the dark wash, fun hem and overall fit. In these, I sized up a size, which is typical to do with Frame.

FAVORITE BLACK DENIM :: If you need black jeans {which in my opinion, is a staple for Fall}, these Paige jeans are amazing! The material is soft and I love the placement of the distressing. If you are in between sizes, I would size up!

FAVORITE PRINTED CARDIGANS :: My prediction is that these two cardigans will be two of the first things to sell out, so snag them quick!! This Striped Madewell cardigan is one of my most favorite peices of the entire sale. I can see myself styling it so many ways and the colors/fit are perfect. It’s super soft, and I love that it has pockets! {I am wearing a small.}

This BP Leopard cardi is back again this year after selling out at rapid speed last year! Leopard is ALL the rage for Fall, and this cardigan can go from work to the weekend. I am wearing a small in this, too! {I also love this leopard cardi on the sale. They just didn’t have it at my store to try on!}

FAVORITE SOLID CARDIGANS :: I love all three of these cardis! The first is a super cozy, casual Topshop cardigan that I will live in the on the weekends! It’s my personal fav.

The second is by Leith and the best cardigan to dress up. It still looks fantastic with jeans, but also has the ability to really dress up for work or evening. I love how this one looks over dresses and skirts.

The third is by BP and a crowd favorite each year, since it comes in lots of colors and is an amazing all-around cardigan for the price. I have a few of these from years past and they hold up really well.

FAVORITE TOP #1 :: Y’all know I have a love affair with Free People. I always stalk the Free People on the Nordstrom sale first because this is the only time you will find brand new Free People on SALE! That said, it’s not too ironic that my two favorite tops from the sale are both Free People. This first top is the prettiest Fall neutral color palette! {I am wearing the brown and there is also a pink colorway.}I reversed here to show two ways to wear it. I also love how it looks layered under a cardi/jacket. This top runs really big, so definitely size down. I am wearing a small here in the pics but ordered an XS. {The Atlanta store was already sold out of XS.}

This skirt is awesome for Fall and just $64! It runs TTS.

FAVORITE TOP #2 :: This Free People Top is gorgeous! It also comes in a pretty white/blue color way, which my mom purchased. {It is so cute on her, too!} You can start wearing this now, front-tucked into shorts, and then it’s perfect over skinny jeans or leggings for Fall. I typically wear an XS in Free People but am wearing a small in this top and this fit is perfect!

FAVORITE JACKET :: Instead of a leather jacket this year, I picked up this furry teddy jacket $65 one by Blank. I adore it, and honestly see myself wearing it more than a leather jacket. As you can see, it is equally cute paired with sneakers or booties. This neutral color will go with so much, and it’s just so darn soft and cozy! I am wearing a small.

FAVORITE LEOPARD SHOES :: If you grab one kind of shoes this sale, I recommend something leopard. Leopard shoes are a fall/winter shoe wardrobe staple in my opinion, they go with everything and never go out of style! These leopard sneakers are one of the few pairs of shoes that came home with me. They are so comfy, and I know I will wear them with everything from jeans to casual dresses to shorts. These run big, so size down half a size.

These leopard booties remind me exactly of a pair I have owned and worn hundreds of times the past few years. Every time I wear them, you guys ask where they are from, and this is the closest pair I have found…and they are on sale! If you love wearing a heeled bootie, these are a great purchase!

FAVORITE ATHLEISURE PURCHASE :: These Zella joggers and this Zella “athleisure” cardigan both came home with me…and my mom! I have never found a pair of joggers I really like until these! They are so comfy and I love how they look paired with this cardigan for a cute errand look or to run around town after a workout. I am wearing a small in each.

If you need a basic, high-quality workout legging, these high-waisted Zella crops are my favorite legging on the sale.

FAVORITE SNEAKERS :: These Adidas kicks are a must if you are looking for fun sneaks! I love all three colors {I took home the black} and they are so comfy! Adidas run notoriously big so be sure to size down a half-a-size!

FAVORITE BASIC TEE :: I always stock up on a white, black and grey tee on this sale each year. This BP one is just $11 and a great one for layering. {As you can see, I am wearing it layered under almost everything in this post!} You can see me wearing the black one in the leopard jogger pic below. I recommend sizing up.

FAVORITE COMFY PURCHASE :: These BP leopard joggers are as cute as they are comfy. I am considering these as my new lounge pants, that can also be worn for errands!

FAVORITE FLATS :: These $51 Madewell slides are the cutest! I love love the brown and the animal print. These will be the perfect, go-with-anything shoe for Fall!

FAVORITE SUNGLASSES :: Quay sunnies are my absolute fav and rarely go on sale! These three pairs of aviator style Quay’s are all on sale and so flattering on almost anyone. I already own the middle pair and wear them all the time, and snagged the third pair on the sale. I have been wearing them all around DC this week!

RUNNERS UP ::

This $38 Caslon blazer is such a versatile layering piece! It comes in several great colors. I am wearing a small.

If you love leopard print {like I do!}, this $15 tee is a MUST! The material makes it dressy enough to wear to the office under a jacket or cardi, too.

A FEW OTHER MUST-PURCHASE ITEMS ::

If you don’t own a camo jacket, it’s one of the easiest layering pieces to wear over and over for Fall. This one is just $58 and a perfect fit. Be sure to size down one size.

  • Spanx faux-leather leggings. If you don’t already own a pair, this is the best price you will find all year!

  • My favorite bra ever. Literally one of the best selling bras in Nordstrom history and the bra I wear everyday. It gives lift, shape and looks smooth under a tee!

  • Undies. I am a huge fan of Hanky Panky thongs and always stock up on this sale!

Be sure to head over to my Instastories @laurenlefevre for a try-on of all these pieces, and keep coming back to this post for more being added later today! I will also have round-ups of kids, home and beauty coming soon!

Stylishly yours,
