ritz-carlton, amelia island recap + what i wore

My family and I recently embarked on a “farewell to summer” beach trip the week before my kids started kindergarten at the amazing The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. The trip was a spontaneous decision, and one we are SO glad we made. We had one of our best family trips ever!

It was our first time to Amelia Island {which is an easy 5.5 hour drive from Atlanta}, and were blown away by the beauty of the island as well as the gorgeous Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island!

Literally every detail is thought for at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. From well-appointed rooms {complete with Nespresso machines, which was one of my favorite things!} to a breath-taking pool area, to a state-of-the-art spa, multiple restaurants and a beautiful beach, this resort impressed us from the moment we arrived until our departure.

There was honestly enough to do within the resort to stay there for a week and not leave! The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island was extremely kid and family-friendly, with lots of activities for kids. My five-year-old twins loved the resort-led daily shark-tooth hunts on the beach where they met new friends, the complimentary boogie boards on which they learned to “surf” the waves and treats that were left in the room just for them! {There are so many more RitzKids activities including Kids Night Out and even tuck-ins available.}

My kids also loved watching the “wild” gopher turtles in their natural environment each time we walked to and from the beach. Turtle spottings became a highlight of each day!

Our family enjoyed an absolutely delicious dinner one evening at Coast, one of the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island’s five on-site restaurant. My husband and I appreciated that we could enjoy a nice dinner with a view, that was still family friendly. I highly recommend the blue crab deviled eggs {the BEST deviled eggs I have ever tasted}, the ribeye and the doughnut dessert! The chicken and waffles are also divine. {For lunch, the lobster quesadillas served poolside are SO good, and I *may* have eaten them for lunch each day!}

This mama was excited for some time alone at the Spa. This was hands-down the nicest spa I’ve ever been to. I was able to take an extensive tour of the Spa before getting a massage, and loved learning about what makes the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island’s Spa so unique. One of the main things that really set this Spa apart is its mission to understand each client’s needs and cater to them. Rather than a “one-size” fits all menu, the Spa and its staff seek to customize each service to each client.

I also loved learning about the incredible healing properties of Himalayan salt, which this Spa infuses into many treatments. Last but not least, the Heaven in a Hammock massage is something very unique to this spa, and is on my list for the service I want to try on my next visit. It sounds amazing!

All in all, I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and our stay there. It was a truly vacation spot that none of us wanted to leave. My kids woke up the first morning we were back home and asked when we are going back!
