nyfw recap :: part 1

New York Fashion Week was a pretty amazing experience. In addition to attending my first New York Fashion Week shows, sharing a hotel room with four girls + eight suitcases, getting my hair and makeup done each day, changing outfits 3-4 times a day and walking around New York City in heels until my feet bled made for an incredible and memorable week! I met some amazing people and had lots of “pinch-me” moments, along with some pretty humorous ones, too!

Since I made so many outfit changes while in NYC, I decided to split my recap into two posts. Here’s “part one” of what I wore during Fashion Week…

Those of you who know me personally or have been following along with this blog for a while know that I rarely ever wear flats. One of the best fashion-decisions I made during the week was to start out in flats for travel to NYC. I now truly understand that anything you can do to preserve your feet during Fashion Week is a must!

On another note, this vest is quickly becoming my very favorite piece in my closet! I’m on the look out for a similar black vest since I find myself wanting to wear this one over everything.

My first NYFW NYFW was a cruise party hosted by Gigi New York and Yosi Samra. Our flight was delayed over an hour, so my travel-partner, Jennifer Duvall {@jennysuemakeup} and I, had to change from our travel clothes into cocktail dresses in the back of a cab upon arrival in NYC! I totally lucked out by being with a talented make-up artist who touched up my make-up and even applied false eyelashes {c/o Esqido} as we taxied across town! It was a blustery, rainy night, as you can see from the pics below. Thankfully, we survived rush-hour traffic and made it to the ship before it set sail.

This is one of my favorite dresses from NYFW. The colors and lace pattern are just so fun! I put it on again on a sunny New York day to shoot the complete look. My nude caged booties are Klub Nico and are as comfortable as they are pretty. These were truly the most comfy heels I wore all week!

Tresemme did my hair almost every day during NYFW, and I let the talented style team do what they wanted to change up my hair each day. For the first day of shows, I had tons of curls and volume with a small side braid.

I have been gravitating towards two-peice matching seperates looks lately and just love this set by Alice and Olivia.

For Friday afternoon’s shows, I changed into a full-skirt, sleeveless turtleneck and moto-jacket. I can’t get enough shades of wine in my wardrobe this season and these shoes are a perfect addition!

Stay tuned for the “part two” of my NYFW recap coming up tomorrow!

Stylishly yours,

P.S. I’m teaming up with It’s a 10 haircare to give away a fantastic haircare set to FOUR friends over on Instagram today! I am a HUGE fan of It’s a 10 products. {Cannot live without their Miracle Leave in Product!} Their new Miracle Whipped Collection is amazing, and part of the proceeds go towards the Right Action For Women Fund, a charity started by Christina Applegate to provide financial support to women fighting breast cancer.
