I bought this Anthropologie tee a few months ago not really knowing what the french phrase meant. I honestly just thought it was a great summer tee that I could throw on with shorts for days I was with my kids, but also dress up with skirts and pants for church or a night out with my husband and friends.
Last week my family received some heartbreaking news about my mother. It really hit me that life is too short. We hear it all the time, but each day comes and goes. Life just moves on without us stopping to realize the blessings we have right in front of us. Sometimes it takes a blind sided punch in the gut to stop and really smell the roses.
Joie de Vivre in the english translation means “exuberant enjoyment of life“. Imagine if each day we woke up with the delight of just being alive. Would we worry less about the little things that in the end are meaningless? Would we hug our loved ones just a little bit longer and hold them just a little bit tighter? Would we forgive something that in the moment seems unforgivable?
